  1. Ok, I added the "%" back at the beginning and end of my program and everything works fine. So far I can even keep my normal program names with no problem....I havnt tried drip feeding ...just loading the programs into the control. This is on a Fanuc 21i/M control. Thanks again for all the help guys !

Ok....when I try to load a program from my card ( SanDisk CF card & PCMCIA adapter) the program loads ( yes, i know that's a good thing) ...BUT...I get "Memory Card Error 121" Anyone know what this means? Thanks to James and everyone who contributed to this thread for all the great tips and instruction, great thread!

  3. My reseller handed out some very nice plastic keyring type things that he had made. They are 2" diameter, 1/8" thick and read... Wynn Frick Consulting COPY PROTECT for MASTERCAM cnc system (724) 864-7750. It makes it hard to misplace my HASP now....and noone mistakes it for a flash drive either. Kudos to Wynn on that one.

  4. Longbow, I use Autocad and insert my picture as a raster image, then using mostly 3 pt arcs I trace the part that I am after. Once that is done I delete my original raster image and save the drawing that remains as a .dxf which I can then convert over to a Mastercam file to do any final touch-ups and set my toolpaths. Its not the best way to do things and definately not the fastest way to do it.....but it works, and assuming you already have Autocad, it is free. HTH ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shady

  5. We have a Daewoo DMV 4020 50 taper and use it to cut mild steel burnouts and steel castings mostly. It has been a very dependable machine although I wish we would have opted for the double arm tool changer. The Fanuc 21i controll has been flawless and Daewoos tech support is awesome. We got the mill complete with full 4th axis and of course chip conveyor for nearly exactly $100,000. If you have any specific questions fell free to email or call me anytime. HTH ~~~~~~~~~~Shady

  6. I am about 40 miles east of Charleston.....north of Beckley...go to Summersville and make a left. There ia a map on our website at www.auxierwelding.com. If any of you guys are ever in this neck of the woods you are more than welcome to stop by the shop for a cup of coffee and a 50cent tour....or would try to meet up with you somewhere along the trail. Dan...please give me a call sometime if you are heading up this way buddy....be good to talk to ya. ~~~~~~~~~Shady

  8. I have bought them, I can ask my tool rep where he gets them if you dont find anything sooner. Although not Morse taper, I have been cutting some tapered holes using a 1" plunge type insert mill and a very very gradual ramp. You can rough them out pretty quickly then come back in with a light cut, very slight ramp angle, and very high feed rate and get some pretty good results. HTH ~~~~~~~~Shady

  9. Yes Nathan I did engrave them...McMaster Carr sells some real nice mirror finish aluminum....looks awesome but it costs around 30 bucks for a 12 x 12 piece.

I wish the boss would spring for Art..but I dont see it happening quite yet. Looks like it would be alot of fun, judging by your example.~~~~~~~~~~Shady

  10. Great link Nathan..thanks. I could have used it when I did these to projects:
