Randy if you have answers about this please tell me, because maybe I am in the same situation. I am very upset about this because right now the MC and my post works very fine and I make very quickly a NC file with all I need part and op. description, right tools and inserts codes needed in the shop.; a good and real tool library with my standard and custom tools.

If we will go to solidcam what the hell , what happen with the old library of parts and programs made in MC? It’s a hell to use in the same times 2 or more CAD-CAM software  you switch the shortcuts, menu’s and so on. Imagine you want to zoom windows with F1 in AutoCAD (I make this every day )

About training, very important - support online like this forum, custom postprocessors for our machines, and so on…….

Right now I have some experience in MC and I can made quickly any god dame complicated parts for lathe, I learn and now all the good and less good parts of MC; if we switch to Solidcam or another software, We will start from the beginning, and I don’t want to learn another software solo again

Now it's an old Microsoft Explorer Intellimouse optical with 5 buttons. In the moment when I buy, it was the single mouse ...compare with Logitech and other Microsoft optical and scroll all models... with a soft touch for the middle button, a good shape for easy to use.

Yes I had the same problem in the past when I start to use this option. But after 1 week I paste over it. When I change my old Logitech mouse with 3 buttons with an Microsoft with scroll button I have again the same problem but for a short time

An ideea! Put on double middleclick zoom extend like Autocad it's useful if you work something on an detail and in one momment you want to view entire part and post curent operation.

Many Thanks for this Bryan. It's a very good ideea to use right click, and the middle click function it's also a very good ideea. I used dynamic pan for middlew click (Logitech mouse)since "94(an autolisp under Autocad12).

But I want to modify to have dynamic pan on middle click ..default.. not dynamic rotate.

How can I do this? It's possible?

I want to use lathem.set setup sheet to obtain the tool time for all operation.

I set the Rapid feedrate, tool change time, the exact Feed, speed like I use on the lathe.

And I obtain a bigger time compare with the time machine.

I forgot to do something? Maybe a pray? ))

If you don't want to buy another software or you don't have many drawings to make you can use MC like James, but if you have a lot of drawings and you want to make faster, use Autocad+learn some AutoLisp for little programs, learn to modify acad.pgp for keyboard shortcuts..with Autocad help not special training.., a good Logitech or Microsoft mouse. All of this=faster and in same time better. I try many CAD software. A single sotware it's like Autocad and now maybe better: Microstation; have same 3D features in plus.

If you want only 2D drafting or simple 3D, Autocad it's the way !!!! It's the best for drafting, if you learn well this software.

If you want 3D parametric, complex models, Solid Edge or Solid Works it's the chip solution, or Catia, ProE, Unigraphics it's the expensive way )

I work with Autocad 2004 and it's work very well.
