I teach HS and the way I check is by doing speed drills. basically I give them all the same drawing face down. stat the timer and walk the room. they can't ask for help or look at others screens. every drawing must be plotted by the end of the speed drill. noted the speed drills are not as complicated but the concept that are needed to complete them are the same and they must be known guessing usually does not work and the competition helps the class. class of 20 basically 10-15 min. part.
hope that helps

bernie,
it will be 3/4" mdf. I run a techno so my speed usually is around 50-60 ipm, rpm 18,000.
the curve is needed to use as a mold for a guitar top. the wireframe sounds good but I am unclear about how to do that.
I think the circular path at about 1/8" per pass will be easier on my machine. how do I change it?
thanks,
mike

sorry about the link and the toolpath. I revised the upload and it now has the toolpath suggests by nunu, total run time 16 hours and change. I was thinking of spiraling a pocket but with multipass, starting on the outside at 0 and ending inside at -.330, possible?
the file in in the same folder MC9
file name: 25 FT RADIUS.MC9
sorry it won't let me copy the link.
thanks,
mike

To all that replied to my request, I apoligize for the very slow response on my part. I have not been to the site in a while. I would love link all instructors and project ideas.
I would like to ask for suggestions about how to set it up.
I have a webpage that I would be more than happy to add a page that links to other instuctor sites, has instructor emails and has lesson plans or project pics, ideas.
here is my webpage:

I would like to create a list of HS tech teachers that use cnc in their courses. I am located in St. louis, I am always looking for new projects and like minded individual to bounce ideas off of.

the wall clock is a good idea. I agree it is a short period of time. But this is an intro semester long class and I also include autocad, hand drafting and woodworking.
We run a techno 4896 with router 9.1.
another question off the subject is any suggestions or links to shop built hold downs?
thanks

we are new to cnc and mastercam, I am a HS teacher that has started a 18wk manufacturing class for my tech students. they will spend about 4-6 weeks in cnc section of the class. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding project ideas in the wood area? I want the students to walk away with a product to make the class more.
thanks
