Haven't had the best life with them in steels, use their Xmills for that.
Ok cool thanks

They are great, they have been my go to endmill for exotics and stainless for the last 6 years.
Hey there have you used them on 4140 or a-2 tool steel and what kind of speeds ans feeds are you running them at ?
Looking for a good endmill to run some Dynamic tool paths for roughing .
Thanks

Hi there we just got mastercam x9 at our shop and ive been interested in using dynamic milling for a while . I don't know where to start with speeds and feeds for high speed machining. We cut mostly tool steels 4140, a-2, d-2 any help with speeds and feeds would be appreciated. We use YG-1 V7 variable helix endmills at the moment .
Thanks

Anyone know roughly how much a Agie Charmilles VCE 1000 Pro VMC costs?

Is it possible to add on thru spindle coolant to a machine that didnt come with it from the factory?
We have an Awea BM-1600 VMC with fanuc control . Are there any aftermarket companys that make them.
Also im wondering if its really necessary to have it because we are drilling plates that are no more then 2" thick and i was wondering to use carbide drills do you even need thru spindle coolant.

Im new to 2d high speed machining and I was playing around with 2d dynamic area milling . My problem is for some reason when i make the toolpath and I helix entry into the part it enters counterclockwise in the ramp entry then switches to climb when its doing the trochoidial moves is this right?

Im trying to figure out why the machine is so slow when it goes into corners. I was wondering if theres a way to turn off this feature. I cant even helical machine anything it wont feed more than 10 inches a minute even if i put the feed at 100ipm.

Is there any way to get the post not to spit these 2 lines out in the post. The program wont run with them in it

Sounds like you have the "Send to Machine" box checked. If you uncheck that box, your posted code will be sent to your default NC file directory (unless you have set a different location using Project Manager or change the save location when you are posting) and not attempt to send directly to the machine through a communications port.
You can set it to unchecked in the Post Dialog Defaults tab of the System Configuration. Click on Settings-Configuration-Post Dialog Defaults to get there to change the default state.
Thanks for the info that helped but when it posts to my NC directory it still posts 2 files 1 regular nc file and 1 .err file?
-
When i post it goes to the controller but i get 2 files 1.nc and 1.err . When i post it says bad communications com port 2 for some reason .

dont have an it dept need to figure it out myself
