how are you generating your geometry and how are you selecting/inputting the depth?
if you draw a standard 2D (at z0) drawing to put toolpaths to it you will have input the depth youself as a negative value.
If you draw it in 3D wireframe and select the depths on the drawing, mastercam will automatically input the depths for you.
Now i can't see what you are doing there, so i want to make sure i'm covering the basics (and sometime the obvious or not so obvious)
We have a Biesse Rover router here, but i'm not sure what model, all i know is there is no post available for our router. I'm a machinist, i leave the woodworking to the wood guys.

glad i could help

under screen/configure/screen, deselect open GL
it also fixes ghost entities and eliminates the need to repaint all the time
The card should be powerful enough to handle most ops without hardware acceleration

Actually you have to press CTRL+printscreen or ALT+printscreen
One copies the whole desktop to clipboard, and the other only copies the active window
Hope this helps more

it'd an overtravel alarm, you must have overtraveled it before you referenced the machine. Sometimes if you shut down too close to the machine reference position, and go to no 1 zero, it will overtravel. To release it, you must hold the OT release button (right beside the reset button, OT=over travel) and hit reset while holding ot release, don't let it go when you hear the hydraulics kick in, the you have to travel the axis that ot'd away from the ot direction.
hope this helps.

chain text is a c-hook available in version 9.1, so you must ahve 9.1 becuase it's not in 9.0

Dont forget that the undo only works when your in the same menu of theoperation taht you just performed, if you hit escape or goto the main menu it won't work.
Or just don't make a mistake!

Count me in,
We are a college in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I teach the practical and theory of CNC programming/operations. We also teach Mastercam and just bought unlimited seats (150 seats) of lathe/mill/wire. We have 4 VMC's, 4 Lathes (1 with bar feed), 1 HMC, and a 5 axis Wire EDM.
Our machine line up include 3 Mazaks, 4 HAAS, 1 Tree, 1 Daewoo, and the Charmilles Wire.

Adobe Streamline works best for me, extremely easy to use, then you can import it to Illustrator and clean it up by deleting anchor points.
My Fiancee is a graphic artist, so i have the access to these programs, you may not want to buy them just to engrave. You can edit it streamline but it's not as easy as illustrator.

from my experience, this occurs when you have an line segment shorter than the cutter radius, try using a smaller cutter.

The type of tap is very important, and make sure you stick to the uses, ie: Hand tap (4 flute) for hand tapping only, Spiral flute (blind holes) spiral point(2 or 3 flute) for thru holes only.
Also be aware of the speeds that you are trying to ridgid tap at, i've seen many break because it was too fast for the machine to synchronize, buy yourself a floating holder. Be sure to use a nice round number for feed like 5,10,15,20,25 etc and multiply it by the #tpi to get the RPM.
One other thing worth mentioning is the machine, you wouldn't happen to be using a newer HAAS machine would you?
I have noticed by default they will reverse the tap and extract it 4x faster than going in.
To correct this use J1 (J2=2x J3=3x....up to 9x)
G84 Z-.75 R.1 F10.0 J1 (no decimal - i think)
this will retract the tap at same rate going in, i dunno why HAAS has done this....perhaps to get kick backs from tool manufacturers for a increase in tap sales?? You can also change this in the settings screen, can't remember the setting number though, something about ridgid tapping retract speed.
Hope this helps

do you mean Misc. Values? if so what exactly would i be looking for? None of the integers/values are defined.
if anyone uses this system, please feel free to help me out here. because of this drawback i don't use mastercam lathe, I use mazatrol. But if i can start getting this to work, i'd like to use it.
Thanks

i'm working with Mazak 10MS and Mazak 8N, both require the G50 system to be used (T32 Controls)
The post i'm using is a generic Fanuc post modified for T32 Controls, I uploaded it to the FTP in new folder. MAZAKL.PST is the file
If you can take a quick look to see if i set it up properly, thanks

AHHH Thanks!
I knew it would be in there somewhere, just overlooked it. Thanks again!

Also how can i get mastercam to output G50 X and Z co-ordinates. i have the WPC selected as 0 and i think i have the post set up properly.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. If there is a request i will post the post on the ftp.
Thanks

I have my lathes using left hand tools for generla turning and boring (Insert up) which requires me to use M04 for turning. For all my drilling and threading operations, i use M03.
Now how and where can i make changes in mastercam to do this. I have looked in tool definitions, and job set-up. I can't modify the post to do this because not every tool will be M04 (threading)
Any suggestions appreciated.
I'm running 9.0 SP1 full suite.
