Like Cathedrals pic.. the bores will be be along the x axis in the top wcs and view. I use several of Dave's posts. your top pic, I would rotate the part so that the flat on the
od was at 3:00 oclock in the right view.. this would be B90C0. View back would be B0C0. , flat towards you. And like he said.. wcs always top, I make a copy of Top wcs for the subspindle.. same part orientation but origin moved by length of part.

Should be a tab for solids at the bottom of the toolpath manager, may need to have a solid in the file.
nope.. no solid necessary .. and the tabs show up if the tp manager isn't docked.

in most lathe posts Mi4 sets the path to polar.

Single Turret, Shouldn't be any anything to sync.

Guess that means out of luck for mill-turns.......

Make a stock model and reference in the verify settings.. Works fine.. My problem is mixed turning and milling...

+1000.. If the break though is reasonably flat.. the 90 deg woody works.. but if your trying to do cylinder to cylinder burr ball works best.

I hear ya.. I've been a Mastercam user for a very long time... Had enough troubles with 5 axis paths and now the new moduleworks paths that don't always respect a mapped Wcs that I'm in the habit of just
moving my part into correct orientation and location. Easy enough to do with dynamic xform. But then we are a job shop.. So most of the time I'm just dealing with one part at a time. I'm looking at new software
now, and it is tough to get some of these things out of my head.

More like under 5 seconds. My take right or wrong is that MasterCam's planes are like from the machines perspective.. not a models perspective.
-
I don't think he is actually trying to rotate any planes, More like offset them to account for the temp changes. Copy your plane that your using, (assuming that it is top) then modify the xyz's by the amount that want to shift.
I don't know how you would automate but I think this is what your trying to do.

I have it set up as a hot key.

me too !!

Why wouldn't you use Win-cnc ? It was made for these machines.

Many thanks Ernie for the the great tools.
You mentioned in your post that you fixed WCS tools, so I went to check it out. Nothing shows up under WCS tools.. I downloaded yesterday.

Hi Jay,
I see in the Cimco help that indeed Multichannel support is there, but It doesn't show up in the file type section.. I have the Cimco v7 that came with x8.
Do I have to have to purchase a upgrade for it ?
-
been playing with it.. you have to configure a machine for it. nc configure. I'm would like to be able to change the font.. but cant find it..
-
yes.. Chrome.. I changed the settings and let it through.. installed fine. Didn't see where I could rename the file.
Thanks

It is a great path, the only issue I run into once and a while is that it will come down on stock. Would be nice to have avoidance chain capability .
