how about tapping Macor? HSS work? 2-56 and 4-40. thinking maybe tap by hand?
-
ohh, I would still have Z0 and origin very bottom.
then I would have tool paths take into account that extra .05 If your stock is say 1.00 and your pocket is .12 deep I put in that the depth of pocket is 1.0-.12 or .88
-
I use real Z's. probably your first op is to face off that .05 correct?

Hi, I have same features on a part 4 times so I transformed operations. Is there a way that it can post out a sub-routine that it could run 4 times, Just move incrementally to each position and run it? it would make program much smaller.
I don't want to use diff offsets G54, G55, etc. as it's all on one part.
thanks in advance.

Colin, where do I find that exclamation ponit button on auto cursor menu to turn on power keys?
Is it near the drop down list of chain, window polygon, single, etc?
thanks

Isn't today Thursday?

Where do you set default for the tool setting
properties/ tool settings / tool path config/
"use tools step, peck and coolant"? One of our computers we have to click it every time.
thanks in advance.
-
in backplot click the expand arrows and then info tab. for estimated run time.
-
way easier to do what JParis said, using the "use entry and exit points"
-
EXCELLANT! thanks. Looks like you can still use leadin/leadout with contour and the use entry/exit points too.
-
milling an undercut groove in a bore with a slot mill: I usually use profile and play with lead in/ lead out until the cutter looks like it will clear bore entering and exiting. there must be a better way?
I looked at pocketing and chained the center point for entering works fine, but how do you get cutter to go back to center for exiting the hole?

yeah, I know about the F9 just easier to not have to remember to do it. It seems since I have un checked that screen info box, Mastercam "remembers" and I don't have to un check every time. nice.
-
Ah, finally found out how: In the print dialoge box you un check the "screen information" box
-
I believe if you check off and put initial height , it spits out G98. if unchecked it makes it G99.

thanks, I'll print all this out and go over it with my computer shop

I want to get 2 or 3 new computers. I've looked at a lot of the systems on the "benchmark" testing speed and I just get more confused. We do
mostly mill, some surfacing, if that means anything. I don't want to spend $10K each. I just don't want to pick a video card (for example) that I'll regret. One system I had priced up is Dell Vostro 200
Intel dual core 2.33ghz processor
2GB DDR2 Ram
160 GB SATA hard drive
DVD RW drive
XP pro
128mb Nividia GeForce video card
24" Acer LCD monitor
came to $1,325.00
I know some is opinion but I'd like recommendations
thanks, Lance

they should open no problem. just select "all file types" so you can see files other than Mcx

How do I set cross hairs to not print all the time? I don't want to keep F9 ing them off on and on. We often print the part drawing on the bottom of setup sheet and if we forget to turn off the cross hairs it runs a line up thru the whole sheet.
thanks, Lance

we got one about a month ago. we're still in the learning curve. need to get a better post. But it does turn some old 3 operation jobs into a 2 op job. nice.

EazyE, did you get straigtened out? If not e-mail me.

Haas machines have made me alot of money. Enough that I am dreading April 15th.....
-
are they exactly evenly spaced? if so transform toolpaths. If random spaced use different offsets and post with multiple positions (offset numbers G54, G55, G56, etc.)
-
Mark, I didn't realize I had to add the X+ icons, but I stumbled across them today. so I did get it working. now my question is can it be modified so tool icons and fonts are larger? those of us with 40+ year old eyes need it!
thanks
