Have you used the "from file" option? Type your tedious code/comments in text file. Then set the option in your Manual Entry path to read it from the stored Text File. Super simple.

Or do what So Not A Guru does, and Import the Ops from another Mastercam file. Several ways of doing the same thing with this...

    Thanks for the reply.

But I am wondering if there is an API to automate "Manual Entry"?

  2. Hello,

I have been looking for the function to automate "Manual Entry" in mastercam for 3 days now and I haven't been able to find anything. Can anyone be kind enough to point me a direction?

I ask this because I need to add some customized comment/commands to the NC program. Those commands are tedious and repetitive. So I don't want to go to click on "manual entry" and type in the message everytime.

    Thanks for the help.

  3. Hello,

I understand VBScript is implemented by MasterCam about a decade ago and it seems like it has not been updated for a long time.  But sometimes, for swift development, I will still use VBScript so that I don't have to start visual studio and do all the settings. Now I am wondering if it is possible to create GUI with VBScript with mastercam, say creating a few check boxes?

I do have some scripts written in VBScript which can generate GUI. I can run the script with the OOTB cmd.exe from Windows. But the script wouldn't run in Mastercam. Are there some libraries that I should include in MasterCAM? Or MasterCAM is just downright NOT supporting additional VBS functions?

  4. Hello all,

I recently took on a client who runs Mastercam 9.1. I know it is an ancient program. But they are in need of a post that would print out tool variables in the beginning of the NC program. One of the variables they are looking for is "tool tip angle". This variable is available for drilling tools. I attached a picture to better explain which variable I mean.

I wonder what the corresponding post variable name is for this?

DPRNT example formatted like a CMM report

    DPRNT.zip

    Hello all

I know this is an old thread. But I am wondering in this generously shared file,  we can see this following

    POPEN
    DPRNT[ABSOLUTE*TECHNOLOGIES*INC.]
    DPRNT[ABEX*PN*26064*REV.*NC]
    DPRNT[OP2*IN-PROCESS*INSPECTION*REPORT]
    PCLOS

    #100=#3012
    #101=FIX[#100/10000]
    ....

    POPEN
    GOTO#105

    ....

Will these generate two seperate files? I ask because there's an "PCLOS" in the middle of the code.

I currently don't have access to a FANUC machine. Please advice. I'll appreciate it.

    Thanks in advance

    Steph
