  1.  I have question about the plane ,I am using MC 2017 when I write the program for 4 operation parts  each operation I created a different plane call op# 1 ,op # 2 , op # 3 , op# 4 .

on the plane  parametter all my 3 planes (  working coordinate system / Tool plane and construction plane ) the all automatic change every time I switch the the plane that I want to work on . But on my coworker system it does not , only the first box which" work coordinate system" is showed the new plane name and the other 2 box grey out which causing problem when he post out the NC. I try to fixed for him but we both unable to find out the problem. I am missing some thing on the setting ?

    Thank you so much

  2. Hi , I am doing some engraving work today with .012 width letter  so I use engraving tool .008 dia . it run good on backplot but when I do the toolpath verify I got this error message :  "Collision tolerance .006 is too large for the tool definition , increase tool side or decrease colission tolerance to avoid errors during simulation " .

I do this lot of time before on X6 and never have this problem . I know the setting is some where but can't it . can some one show me how to get there .  I am using MC2017

    thansk you so much

  3. Can some body show me how to hide the stock model after I created a stock model to verify my toolpath , it stay overlap my Step file  and I don't know how to hide it  so I have to delete it out of my toolpath manager  and come back to create again as the program go on kind of wasted time .

    Thanks you so much

  4. I normally create 2 separate program for top and bottom of my part until  my friend show me how to use  new WCS  which very cool to save me time . But I very confuse

example : on my old X6  when I rotate the plane 90 deg and make it a new plane for my next operation , I name it OP# 2  and start making toolpath out of that new plane

and it work perfect with out problem , when I go to parameter -  plane  and I always see the parameters like this : ( my friend  told me  all 3 have to be the same )

Working coordinate system       /  Tool plane         /   Comp / construction plane

         OP #2                                       OP# 2                            OP# 2

and there is a box below say display relate to WCS , if I check that box  the Tool plane and construction plane  is Dim  but I post out ok.

but now I am using MC 2017 for a little over 2 months  , I did the same thing I used to do before and I see like this :

Working coordinate system       /  Tool plane         /   Comp / construction plane

         OP #2                                       OP# 2                            OP# 2

I the program post out wrong with G54 and next op It come out G55  and I almost crash the machine

I came back and redo the process this time it come out like this below and it work ok

working coordinate system       /  Tool plane         /   comp / construction plane

         OP #2                                        bottom                           bottom

Bottom line is I have no idea what I am looking for , which parameter is correct ?  Please help .  thank you so much

  5. thank you so much .

how come I did not see that ?  do you mean right click on the toolpath manager Icon ? I did that and the only thing I see is customzing the Ribbon  and 3 other option which allow you to add a command.

would you show me a screen shot of the icon you right click on ?

I am not in front of Mastercam now will try it on Monday when back to work.

again thank so much for your help.

  6.  I am new to mastercam and transition from X6 to  Mc 2017 . Can some one help me to find the old  finish 3D scallope and paralell toolpath . Some one show me to Right click on toolpath manager and add it on but I can't find it there , I see there  is 3D pocket and countour but not the scallope , Am I missing some thing ?

second question is  I had set a color for the 3D model but it keep changing every time I select it to do a toolpath , how do I stop it ?

    many thanks

  7. is the traditional 3D finish scallop  and 3d countour... etc... still available in mastercam 2017 ?

if yes where can I find them ? I like to use them  rather then the high speed scallops

    thanks

  8. I am transitioning from X6 to 2017 ..what a shock . I can't find my plane manager so I can create a new plane  for 4 axis machine . Can some one show me where I can find it  , I am trully appreciate .

question #2 is  how to use 3d model for verify the tool path ?. on x6 there is so easy to switch from stock file or STL or SOLID model when you do tool simulation .

    Thank you so much
