    Check out View/Multithreading

    Set the cores to 8.

    This will help with the newer high speed toolpaths that use multithreading

    There is not much to be done for the old legacy surfacing paths.

    You should also set Maximum available ram to at least 50% in System Config.

    You might find this thread interesting

    Benchmark 3.0

    Can you explain setting the ram in the system conifg?

    I'm pretty jealous of your rigs guys!

    Mine is 5 years old now (Xeon E5-1650 oc4.2/32Go/K4200/SSD) and it crunches benchmark3 in 4'03... fortunately our parts are usuallly medium size without complex surface features. However I'd like a new one to speed up things like GUI latency sometimes.

    My previous rig had a Xeon 4112 and wx7100. It was good for your basic 3 axis parts, but once I started working on more complex multiaxis parts it just fell too short.

    I was talking about memory not SSD. I just got a 980 Pro 2TB M.2 SSD for my Laptop to replace the 970 Pro 1TB running out of room. It will go into the 4th slot on the Laptop as backup memory space along with the 2 other SSD drives.

    Ah, I misunderstood. We debated on amount of RAM for a long time. We went with a 2x32gb setup for now so we can expand in the future if we decide it is necessary.

    I would go with a 128Gb or 256gb with that rig.

    I only needed enough space for mastercam, camplete, and a couple other small programs. Everything else we have is stored on our shops servers. And, we had this SSD just laying around already.

    That is an impressive time, maybe the best ever?

    I knew it was a good time when it happened, but I am not sure where it stacks up overall.

  5. My shop was willing to pull the trigger on a new PC for me back in December, but we opted to wait until the 11th Gen Intel CPUs were released and I must say, I am not disappointed so far. I ran the Mastercam Benchmark 3.0 file and got a time of 2:26. In comparison, my old PC did the benchmark file in 4:58, so significant improvement. New build as followed:

    CPU - Intel i7-11700K

    Mobo - Asus ROG Maximus XIII HERO

    RAM - G-Skills Ripjaws 64GB DDR4-3200

    SSD - Samsung 980 Pro 250gb M.2 NVME

    GPU - PNY Quadro RTX4000

    I took a look at the file for Programinator. This looks like a unique issue with concave part geometry which is causing a reverse leadin/leadout curl back into the stock volume, that is then not trimmed properly to avoid the plunge gouge. Tolerances/boundaries/stock model/entry settings/tools/skip pocket settings are not at fault here. I sent it on so someone can take a look and see what's actually happening.

    Interesting. I have seen a fair amount of opti-rough issues, but that sounds like a first.

    No...

    the only change you'll have to make is to the nethasp.ini file on your local computer..

    [NH_TCPIP]

    ;
    ; NetHASP does not support TCP/IP under DOS.
    ;

    ;
    ; Section-specific Keywords for the TCP/IP protocol.
    ;

    NH_SERVER_ADDR = IP ADDRESS of VPN SERVER ;<Addr1>, <Addr2> ; IP addresses of all the NetHASP
    					; License Managers you want to search.
    					; Unlimited addresses are possible.
    					;
    					; Possible address format examples:
    					;  IP address:      192.114.176.65
    					;  Local Hostname:  ftp.aladdin.co.il

    ;;NH_PORT_NUMBER = <Num>		; Set the TCP/IP port number. This is
    					; optional. The default number is 475.

    ;;NH_TCPIP_METHOD = TCP or UDP ; Send a TCP packet or UDP packet
    					; Default:  UDP
    ;;NH_USE_BROADCAST = Enabled or Disabled; Use TCPI/IP Broadcast mechanism.
    					; Default:  Enabled

    ;;NH_SERVER_NAME = <Name1>, <Name2>,	; Communicate with the NetHASP
    					; Server with the specified name.
    					; Maximum: 6 names, up to 7
    					; case-insensitive characters each.

    Came here to say this.

    VPN is definitely the way to go though, tried the remote log in, biggest issue for me is I wasnt able to use my 3D mouse  over remote login.

     ^^ Yep what he said ^^

    Use the best product you can afford, maybe that is just the free Machine SIM that comes with Mastercam.

    You can also upgrade the post so that Mastercam’s machine SIM is linked back to the post

    CAMplete is a great product for a reasonable cost. Vericut is the next level with next level features.

    At the end of the day these products are all cheaper than a spindle replacement on a quality machine

    My shop started with CAMplete and it has done us decent for a while, but with what we want to do it seems Vericut is the direction we are heading.
