This may be a stupid question, but it's always bugged me and I hope it's a super simple answer that I have just never learned.
I'm working with files that were drawn poorly in the first place. There are multiple levels featuring very similar (if not identical) geometry. These files have many different tool paths with geometry that is on tons of different levels. When I want to make a change to the tool path geometry it's a real pain in the xxxx to find it through like 50+ different levels. From the geometry tab under various tool paths, is there any way to determine what level the geometry is on? I can "show" the geometry, but it only shows if the level is active which is useless when I dont know the level.Thank you for any and all help

Sorry to resurrect a super old post, but I found a slightly different way of handling this that worked really well for me and figured id post for posterity. I set up the G8 / G9 as a type of coolant in one of the unused slots. Now when I want G8 on a program I just go to coolant, and select "G8" on, and "Before". It turns G8 on for that operation and goes back to G9 at the end of the operation. This protects your drilling cycles as was a concern above..
In the post I altered the following lines
scool64 : "G8" #Coolant 8 on value scool65 : "G9" #Coolant 8 off value
and in Mastercam i go into Machine definition > General Machine Parameters > Coolant Commands and make sure both check boxes are NOT checked.

Hey All,
For Background I'm running Mastercam 2018 and posting to a Haas VF3-SS. I'm running multiple variations on a program which has 14 tool changes in it. The Haas machine automatically looks ahead to pre-load the next tool - Unless there is a M01 - in which case the Haas cant look past it.
I looked through the control definition / machine definition / Tool path manager to see if there was a setting to disable it per tool or per program but I couldn't locate one. (Though to be fair I may have missed it)
So my dumb question, what setting in the post processor adds the M01 before a tool change? Should I just add the "#" before it to comment it out? My best case scenario would be able to have it off by default but use canned text to put it on.
Thanks for any and all help

Look in 'pheader$' for the beginning percent sign, and 'peof$' for the end.
That did it! Thank you sir, you are a king among men!

Hi All,
New user here. I have a dumb question which I'm sure is super easy for you experts. How can I modify my post processor to start my .nc file with a "%" and end the file with a "%"?
Background: I'm a long time Mastercam user dating back to Mill5 (not x5) and we've been using the same Fadal VMC4020 post processor for 20+ years. Finally after updating to Mastercam 2018 I've had to change to the new default Fadal Post provided on the CD by my installer. The problem is that my machines are ancient and my programs need to start and end with a "%" sign to upload properly. I don't want to just manually modify the .nc file everytime
Any ideas?

I've successfully installed version 9 (not x9) on Windows 10 using my sim. V9 will open GE3 files and up. It works OK enough that you can open a file, save it as an MC9 file, which can in turn be opened by any modern version (at least to 2018, I haven't worked with 2020 yet).
