  2. thanks all

I think version x cant do what v 9 did.

i should forget about what v 9 did and create the contuction line to the center point of arc and then perpendicular line as suggested by Mark.

maybe it will be fixed added in a future maintenance release .

  3. thanks John

but this thread is the solution for tangent to two arcs. i can get a line tangent to the arc but cant seem to fix the tangent point on the arc to the end point of the arc.the current method only allows me to pick the other end (point two) after establishing tangency to arc for point 1.if I lock the length of line and pick the end of the arc i get a warning 0 length arc.i have searched the forum but have not found anything to cover this situation.

thanks again for trying to help

  4. Hi

I am new to version x.

trying to make the tranition from v 9.

what is the best way to create a line of 10 units in length tangent to the endpoint of an existing arc.

create line tanget point was the v9 method.

i have tried the create line endpoints in x.

i have resorted to creating a constuction line from the end point of the arc to center point of the arc then creating a perpendicular line to the construction line then deleting the constuction line.

I better get back to work now.

thanks for reading hope i have been clear.

  7. the main advantage of nethasp is that you can have a mix of level licences and design.users swap licences to suit there current needs. this saves money by purchasing a design or level 1

instead of say a level 3 also solids licences can go with any other licence.i have set up a default licence for each user by applying switches to the mastercam icon on the desk top and put all other possable licence combinations in a folder on the desktop.on the down side you will be told if that license is not available but who is using it? there is no way of knowing who is using what licence execept by phisically checking .if you have a situation of say one lathe and one person who programs for it then dont put that licence on the net hasp.

  8. I have had this problem. The solids in acad file were block referances. I think it was solved by the block referaces in the acad file having to be exploded to solid bodies. The solids could be converted using sat file export convert if you only need the solid bodies. I am not a acad user so some of my terminolgy may be wrong. My main message is that the acad file can be formated in a way to be better converted. Hope this helps

convert the points to an ascii file in file convert .I use another method i join the points with lines do a 3d contour toolpath along the lines and post with ( points check.pst ) this out puts a nc file simular to an ascii file but the points are in the order i require. i have uploaded this post to the posts section of the ftp site.I do check fixture verifications this way what are you trying to do?
