  1. AGREED! Lathe with Mill

Ive just been figuring it out as I go from past mastercam files of the company im with but even looking back at them my planes are all matching up like they had them for the very same type of operations. I wonder if it has something to do with my model's orientation to my plane. But it shouldn't right cz that C Axis has 360 degrees of travel.

I dont know man. If you dont think you can walk me thru it no worries ill figure it out eventually.

    thanks!

  2. I'm programming for a Mori Seiki SL-25Y. Im milling a big chunk out of a 304 SS tube. I've already completed the milling operation with an end mill. Now I want to chamfer my milled edges with a 45 deg chamfer mill and mastercam keeps flipping my tool or my part orientation upside down?! Im using the same plane as I did for the end mill ( Cross Upper Left [Top] ) and my part is oriented the same and I'm using the same tool path ( C axis Cross Contour)

Hopefully someone out there has more experience with this than me cuz i am stuck. lol

  3. I am trying to setup a simple flip flip operation on my Okuma lathe. The part just needs faced and tapped on both ends. I don't want to run all the parts thru on one side and the come back and run the second side like I've been doing. I want to run one side and flip it and run the other. But I only know how to work the main Z Work Offset of the machine. I know this machine is capable of doing what I want to do but I don't know how to get there! When I am in the "Zero Set" page I Item down and found the *Screw Pitch Comp* page which appears to me to be a list of 12 possible work offsets?? Is that actually what that is? Or something totally different? How would I set a Z work offset for the second side of my part and what do I need to program to specify that work offset?

  4. Im just trying to find the meaning behind the G110 and G111 and when they're necessary and when they are not.. I think you guys were referring to them as timing codes or something between the two turrets maybe? So are they only necessary when running the two turrets simultaneously? My mastercam posts all my programs with the G110 when only using Turret A and now Im trying to learn how to use Turret B and don't know what i need to make it run.. G111?.. Neither?.. Both?.. I dont know lol Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Also, brand new to the forum (or any forum ^_^) so show me some love. Thanks guys!
