Hi, i was wonder how to create a post warning for tool numbers.Most of my mills have 40 tools but some only have 20 i would like the post to warn me

if i forget to change tool number.

Yes should be pretty straight forward. Question is do you want to let the machine and control definition help you control this like it was designed to or do you want to control this with a specific post? With the correct machine and control definition then you could look to which one is used. If a certain one is used I would think there is a trigger process that MP could use to see it and then go from there.

 

As a Post check something as basic as if t$ > 20 & machine20 <> one, result = mprint(s20terror)

 

Then just define the error statement s20terror : "ERROR - TOOL NUMBER SET HIGHER THAN MACHINE CAPACITY RENUMBER"

 

Would want to put the error checking probably in the psof part of the post.

 

Best bet would be to contact your dealer and see what they can do to help you out.
