cut off tool

I am trying to get a cut off tool to work correctly but i cant seem to do it right. Can someone look at the file i uploaded named 0117410801.MC9 in the mc9 folder.

I am trying to use the cut off tool on the left side of the part to cut it off bar stock and put a chamfer on the left side. I can get the cut off to work but not the chamfer it always want to cut it wrong. can someone look at the drawing to tell me how you would do it?

There is a radio button that you need to select in your parameters page (chamfer). I uploaded the file with an 802 suffix. I also toggled some of your chaining geometry and your lead in/lead out parameters. Take a look, everything appears to work ok now.

Thank you for the reply. I see that your changes work good. I tried to compare your changes to the original file and i made the changes to my file but i got the same result which was the chamfer was being undercut. I think i figured it out. I had to use the intersection of the virtical line and the od as the start point instead of the chamfer end point and then it worked perfect. Thank you for your help

As the corner of the tool is radiused, the backplot may look like it is undercutting when in fact, the radius is actully tangent to the drive lines.

 

Lathe is decieving - just watch for things like this.
