Drafting Note Issue

Every so often when I'm adding setup notes to my program I run into an issue where it wont let me place down the text.

I've gone through all the settings in the note box and nothing fixes it. The only fix is a computer restart, closing and reopening doesn't fix it.

It changes my floating box to enter text into the text editor area, Select note to use as attributes and when I start writing text it goes to select another note to use its attributes 

The floating box usually says indicate position of text, it seems like its getting stuck in hold end key mode but it doesn't let me get out of it.

Not sure what causes it.

I figured it out. Its happens only when I hit Shift 1 on my number pad and it gets stuck in the hold end mode.

The shift comand on the number pad for 1 is End. Some reason that what keeps it there

Thanks for posting the solution... I'm pretty sure none of us would have guessed it!

I had a similiar problem years ago, a CTRL key on my keyboard started failing after 10 years of trusty service...  But it was intermittent.
