Hi Bryan

First of all, do you use software handshake.

if not, I think this is might be your problem. Because normaly a cable that works with normal transmision will also work with dripfeed, if the handshake is correct. And most Fanucs normally runs with software handshake.

Most RS232 cables jump out the Handshake signals. The best way to make sure you can DNC (Dripfeed) to a Fanuc control is to make a cable that has all the wires connected at both ends. I sent an e-mail with an attachment showing these pin outs.

1 Ground

4&5 jumped

7 ---------------- 7

6,8&20 jumped

B: DB25 to DB9

CNC(DB25) Computer(DB9)

1 Ground

2 ---------------- 2

3 ---------------- 3

4&5 jumped

7 ---------------- 5

6,8&20 jumped
