Workpiece, Fixture, and Stock not Locating in Simulator or Machine Simulation?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am learning Mastercam and I can't figure out why/how to locate the workpiece, fixture and stock in the simulator or machine simulation. From all the tutorials I have watched, and from experience using a default machine I had the impression that everything sort of automatically locates. This leads me to believe that the issue lies with how I built my machine which is a 2012 Haas VF3ss with a similar age TRT100 trunnion. Could this be attributed to a misuse of the dynamic elements: workpiece spindle revolving group versus single workpiece set? That is a difference I noticed between different machine building tutorials. The trunnion is also 90 degrees out of the standard ~180 degree limits I specified. It kind of looks like the fixture may be located correctly with the trunnion in the wrong position but in previous attempts when the trunnion was in the correct position the fixture was not located correctly. As you can see in the pictures I have not set up holders yet.

I'm sorry what's a Z2G? I ended up getting the machine simulation to work but not the simulation. Here's the machsim file:

VF3ss with TRT100.zip 14.06 MB · 0 downloads

Zip 2 Go is the utlity in Mastercam that share files with all the settings along with post, machine and control definition and if wanted the Machine Simulation file.

Simulates correctly on my end. The axis travels and limits are all wrong and need to be fixed other than that without a Z2G cannot tell you why you are seeing the issue you are seeing.
