Has anybody else had problems in V8 mill L3 with surface rough pocket with ramping? I can't get it to ramp down into my part at all. It will just feed straight down into the new stock and take off. I'm setting up the parameters the same way I did in V7.2 mill L3 but with no avail. But it does seem to recognize the entry point parameter that V7.2 never did. confused.gif

On Mastercams homepage go to support free downloads.

Download the file called appmch8-803.exe.

Copy it into your APPS sup directory under your main v8 directory (mcam8). Run the file from explorer. It will update your multisurface toolpath functions.

Then start v8 and try the ramp function again

Let me know if it solves the problem

I have found a problem with the appmch8-803.exe download and the guys at CNC Software logged it as a bug and are currently working on it. The problem is in surface-rough-pocket when using an entry point. The tool will seem to totally disregard the entry point. I removed the appmch8.dll from the Apps directory and it worked. Just FYI
