5axis spiral help

G'day all,

I have uploaded a file called bruce_swarf_spiral.mc9 under mc9 files on the ftp. When viewed from the front, the tool is not staying parallel to the wall when ramping down. I have tried different methods of tool axis control as well as tilt angles, but none seen to have any affect. Am I missing something simple???

The operation is part of a trial to test out our Mazak Vortex and new CMM, as well as giving me a chance to use a few of the more "funky" toolpaths available in MC. The job will be on the machine some time tommorow and I would really like to see this toolpath work. 9.1 maintenance

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Bruce

Next problem. When the machine is retracting from an angled face, it is not moving in the tool axis. i.e GOUGE. I thought that this was only on the 5 axis parts but then it happened on the drills also. On the drills it looks like the XY movement and the Z movement on the next line should be on the same line together.

On the 5 axis paths it is the line with the 5axis substitute rapid feedrate on it.

If anyone can think of a fix from the scant info here I would be greatful. I will try a few things when I get in tomorrow and see if I can't provide a bit more info.

Bruce
