nethasp on single pc network

I have a customer with a nethasp that wants to be able to take the hasp home and run it on his lap top.

 

So far we can get it to run as long as he is plugged into a network.

 

We got the lic manager running ok and we can even just plug it into a network router and it work. Have tried setting the ip addy static.

 

Anyone else able to use a net key on a single non-networked pc?

In NHasp9, is the mode set to "Local"?

I'm sure that you thought of this but anyway, did you go into the nethasp manager on the puter at home and change it to say local?

 

We are not allowed to take our hasps home so I don't know that this would fix it, but I know that on our's here at work, the one that has the hasp on it must say local.

 

All the others will work even if the one that it is attached to says nethasp, but it won't work untill you say local.

Will retry setting to local, bnut thoughtthat was only for updating. Will keep you posted....

nhasp9.exe must be set to 'local' so that MC looks for a local server instead of an external license server.

No luck. Customer is going to buy a cheap network router to plug into at home for now.

You need to have an IP address. If you are not logged to network (Internet connection gives you an IP address), the haspserver cannot be used and Mastercam won't run

I think there is a device that you can plug in that fools the PC to believe it is connected to network.

Make your own loopback connector.

 

Though I'm still not sure why setting it to local doesn't do the trick. Mind you, this isn't the first time I've seen the licensing tool of an app require "network connectivity"...not HASP related though.
