Gentlemen, thanks for your responses regarding using dual processors. Sounds like

it WILL crunch while I keep working, and that's what I'm after.

Also, for particularly mold and cavity

makers, what benefits does Mastercam Solids

offer you, is modeling or toolpathing easier?

We're considering that addition, too, if it

does great things. Thanks, again. Goldie

Goldie, we have the solids package, but unfortunately we have only one seat with the converter (pro-e). For the most part any solids we work on are those we create i.e. slides and heels and so forth.

Unless you have the converter to read a solid MC will read it in as an iges and it will be surfaces.

One thing that getting a solid model(regardless if you have the solids add-on or not) will provide you over getting an IGES file is a "Watertight" surface model. IGES will not always provide this.
