mc X tool legth offset number

version 9 changes my tool numbers sequentially as I pull them in and changes the tool length number and dia offset number I can't get X to do that. There must be a toggle to set somewhere.

I don't know what your version does but mine (even with the above settings) defaults the dia and length to whatever the tool number was ie: 241

in ver X It will assign tool numbers sequentially if under op manager>files>tools you check number tools sequentially.

 

The only problem I have with this is I can not get it to be checked when I open mcam, I have to check it on every new job.

Anybody know where to change this in control definition? I can not find it.

I'm not sure if you can in the control def., but you need to go in to set your stock up anyway.

The default for number tools sequentially is set in the operation defaults. There are two ways to modify this, either via an active machine group (Machine group properties, bottom of the Files tab) or via the control definition manager (operation defaults do not live in the control def, they are stored in a seperate file - the control def manager just gives you access to them and allows you to determine which operation default file should be used with that control).
