creating a smooth surface

What do you have your sync options set to? Is it a shading issue? If you create a curve on the edge of the new surface how does it compare to the original wireframe?

Can you place it on the FTP so that I can see what your wireframe looks like. Sometimes with drastic changes the coons will come out pretty crappy. It then works better if you break it up into multiple patchs by breaking your wireframe up into more managable pieces.

I checked it out and it didn't look bad to me. I created a new surface using cubic slope matching with a real tight tolerance and placed it back on the FTP under the MC9 directory (ftp/mc9/coons-jj.mc9). I used the tolerance we use on building our molds and I seem to get great results.

What do you have your surface display tolerance set to? This may give you an apperance of a bad surface when in fact it is fine. The tighter you make the tolerance the better it looks, but the slower it perfroms.

You might want to use these directories in the future. It makes it easier to find stuff. HTH
