  1. I started programming using SmartCam..It took me almost an entire year, (using it every day) to become comfortable with it. I caught on to MasterCam in a couple of weeks, Its just very user friendly, there are pros and cons for every system out there, Think a ford guy's gonna switch to that new Chevy?
  2. Sorry about the directory, first time ive used the site, but thanks very much, my surface display was set at .002. That was my problem the whole time!...Thanks!
  3. Yup!, its on the ftp site, its called coons.mc9
  4. Im having difficulty creating a smooth coons surface. I drew the wireframe and tried to lay a coons surface with .0005 deviation over it but i get .0015 gaps all over the place, using version 9.1 What am i doing wrong?
  5. My surfaces dont have enough control points. My tool path comes out really rough, even with .001 stepover. How do i modify my surfaces to add more control points. I can visually see the gaps between the surface and the wire frame.
  6. I am looking for someone to share a "safe start" beginning for a post. I need to add a section to my post for a mazak post to return all axis to home and cancel cutter comp and all that good stuff. Also, i need to alter my post to force a tool change when im using only one tool. Any Help would be appreciated!
  7. When creating a simple cube, i used to draw a rectangle, translate, transform, join to a spacific "z" depth. Whe i do this in "X", i dont see the lines, but when i view screen statistics there are 12 lines?..where are they hiding?
  8. M/C v9 will also read AutoCad 200Lt dwg. files using method descibed by Mr. Tracy in the previous post. I have no trouble reading these files everyday!
  9. yep, Thanks Travis, I just created splines over the geometry I now have 8 splines. wich translates into 18 lines of code instead of 2000 lines or points.
  10. I want to fix the drawing so i can run toolpath on it. Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong?
  11. What filter? I have a profile that i imported from Auto Cad.
  12. HELP!...How do i change a series of .015 line segments to a spline to make my programs shorter?
  13. Yes, we use BOTH EIA and Mazatrol programs. I am thinking of upgrading to griffo. Bros. latest and greatest. a bit pricey, but it allows me to edit both programs and even write programs in mazatrol.
  14. I have two programmers, they send programs to a remote computer in the shop. I only have two seats of MasterCam. I can't open Cimco editor without a Hasp on our remote computer. How can I get around this?
  15. We are currently using Griffo Bros. software to download programs to our Mazaks. Does anyone use Cimco? How does it work? We need something easier to use and cheap!
  16. I just use "Ctrl" with "print Screen" then open "Word" and right click "Paste" If you click on the picture it will automatically bring up an edit menu.

  19. That sort of worked, but now when i click on anything, it still takes a long time for anything to happen, like an 8 or ten second delay...
  20. I just installed MasterCam on my new HP laptop, running windows2000Home. It runs extremly slow. The mouse is really slow, Maybe its the video card? Anyone else have this problem?
