Lathes

I am wondering if anyone knows anything about YAM CNC lathes. I just bought one with a FANUC 0T control. The main memory was 'scrambled' and I had to clear everything, including parameters!

I'm now left with a control and an assembly of parts. Got a sweet deal on it but would like to be able to use it instead of parting it out.

Please help.

headscratch.gif Not sure what you mean by this..

Your best bet at this time is getting in touch with a dealer or tech that supports/sells this machine. With luck they might have a backup of parameters.

Post a little more info( model...)and bump this thread tomorrow morning, maybe someone here has similar machine

If you call Fanuc [(888)FANUC-US] or whatever the crazy number is and give them all of the information you have about the machine they may be able to help you out. There may be a location in the machine's 'brain' somewhere that there is some info that can help you.

Hello All,

We had the same problem with our Puma Lathe. The ladder (basically it's brain) became corrupted and it decided to do a tool change whenever it felt like it - the last time was during a threading operation. It was pure carnage!

Talk to your control manufacturer first. But you will probably have to re-install your master diskette/tape/cd from the original set up of the machine. The tape/casette "should be" in your control panel. We had to replace the PLC Cassette and it had a clean ladder burned on it.

Hope this helps.
