Translation Code Output

I hope I've done this right. I've never added a file to the FTP Site until now.

Here's my problem...this program outputs correctly in V9, but when done in X, it outputs as many identical subs as I have rotations. I've tried numerous posts and situations, but still get the same results. I've contact my local rep., and they've thrown in the towel. They sent it to Mastercam as a bug to fix, but so far I've heard nothing. I've learned more from this forum than any book or help file, so I thought I'd throw it out there for you guys to take a stab at.

Thanks in advance for any help !!

Irupe,

What post are you using?

I just posted this and it looks fine with one of my X posts.

And only 1 subprogram

There are more rotations of course but only the one sub-program.

If I was guessing man, I'd say the problem resides in your post.

Now I'm extra confused...what you posted looked correct, so I went back to X, loaded the file from the FTP site, reposted and it came out right. I used many different posts before and got the same bad results. I did trim the majority of the operations out just to simplify the program for this posting, so now I'm wondering what that might have affected.

Thanks for taking a look. Like I said, this forum is a wealth of information from some pretty smart people, for the most part.

I'll continue looking at this issue, and if I can't find the problem, maybe I'll post the full program without doing any trimming away.

I opened the completed MC9 file in X, then reposted it. I now get bad results again, so this time I have posted the complete file on the FTP site so (hopefully) you see what I see. That is really interesting though, that it worked correctly when most of the op's were stripped away. I am going to keep looking at that.

Thanks again !

Take a look at this file

/Mastercam_forum/MCX/POCKETS_JMP.zip

You had an empty transform that "I think" was causing problems. I also do not think it like rotating a transform of a transform.

I broke the first part and second part of tool 1 up and it seems to work fine this way. Leads me to wonder if what you were trying to do is possible in X.

Thanks John. You might be right on. I may end up doing it this way. This is a template for a family of parts which I have used in V9 for several years. The empty op was a product of that template and would allow me to stack more parts per load if need be. At least in 9, it never caused any issues.

I think I'll sit back and see if MC comes up with a solution, or if I need to change our template.
