  1. Thank you. That solves my issue. I do miss the "insert and erase spaces" icon though. Any suggestions there?
  2. I cannot get the "Next Tool Change" or "Previous Tool Change" icons to work. Is there a trick to setting this up or is there a bug here. Anybody else??
  3. We are the new proud owners of a mid 80's edm machine with a Fanuc SP300 control. I am attempting to communicate with it. It has an RS-232 port + a tape reader, with a switch to choose. I have been successfull getting jibberish out of it, but not the files as they appear in the machine. I've been using Cimco edit on this machine, but am pretty convinced that I have some settings wrong. It came with limited books, so I was hoping someone, somewhere has the same machine, and would be willing to share the settings knowledge with me. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, Larry
  4. I had the same problem at first. If you go to "Control Panel", "Mastercam X", then double click. Change the "file open dialog style" to "Microsoft Windows Standard", rather than "MasterCam X". That solved my problem, plus allowed me to search for files by using the * wildcard.
  5. Thanks John. You might be right on. I may end up doing it this way. This is a template for a family of parts which I have used in V9 for several years. The empty op was a product of that template and would allow me to stack more parts per load if need be. At least in 9, it never caused any issues. I think I'll sit back and see if MC comes up with a solution, or if I need to change our template.
  6. ftp://www.ppcadcam.com/Mastercam_forum/MC9_files/pockets.mc9 I opened the completed MC9 file in X, then reposted it. I now get bad results again, so this time I have posted the complete file on the FTP site so (hopefully) you see what I see. That is really interesting though, that it worked correctly when most of the op's were stripped away. I am going to keep looking at that. Thanks again !
  7. Now I'm extra confused...what you posted looked correct, so I went back to X, loaded the file from the FTP site, reposted and it came out right. I used many different posts before and got the same bad results. I did trim the majority of the operations out just to simplify the program for this posting, so now I'm wondering what that might have affected. Thanks for taking a look. Like I said, this forum is a wealth of information from some pretty smart people, for the most part. I'll continue looking at this issue, and if I can't find the problem, maybe I'll post the full program without doing any trimming away.
  8. ftp://www.ppcadcam.com/Mastercam_forum/MC9_files/rotational translation.mc9 I hope I've done this right. I've never added a file to the FTP Site until now. Here's my problem...this program outputs correctly in V9, but when done in X, it outputs as many identical subs as I have rotations. I've tried numerous posts and situations, but still get the same results. I've contact my local rep., and they've thrown in the towel. They sent it to Mastercam as a bug to fix, but so far I've heard nothing. I've learned more from this forum than any book or help file, so I thought I'd throw it out there for you guys to take a stab at. Thanks in advance for any help !!
  9. BINGO!!!! The only time they will print is if you have a solid, and the shading is turned on. I thought I was losing it!!! Thanks for all the help.
  10. F9 seems to simply toggle them on or off. My problem is the axes show up on the screen, but do not print. I have even used different printers including a pdf writer which is set up as a printer.
  11. These were both off, so I changed them. It had no affect on printing. The cross hairs I am referring to are the original world cross-hairs, usually brown by default.
  12. When printing using "hardcopy", the cross hairs showing the datum do not print. This used to work for me, but something has changed. I have looked all over but obviously am missing something. Any ideas?? Thanks in advance!
  13. After contacting MCAMNW, I understand that aggregate will not work for this. Keep in mind that the entire head will tilt, including the quill which causes the head aches. The Z travel will no longer be perpendicular to the X/Y plane. They are working on it now for me through a post processor equation. Thanks again for all your input.
  14. We have a retrofitted manual mill with 3 axis Accurite controls which is capable of tilting the head. I have a need to tilt the head in 1 direction in order to mill a particular pocket. This will change the Z axis travel to no longer be 90 degrees to the X-Y plane. Will the Aggregate C-Hook take care of this issue or do I need to look elsewhere? It appears that Aggregate C-Hook is for angle heads that do not actually rotate the axis, but simply rotate the tool. This C-Hook is new turf for me, and I don't want to spin my wheels figuring it out if it won't do the trick. Is there a better method? My other option is to tilt the part. Thanks in advance,
