Does this need drafting notes that were created from geometry to work? What about if I had a couple of pages of co-ordinates specifying a profile. Could I use the same method to get the profile or do I need to key the co-ordinates in?

For this to work, the drafting notes need to have been created in Mastercam.

If you have a few pages of coordinates to type in, hopefully they are in some kind of electronic format (like comma or tab delimited .txt file).

If so, this is your lucky day. Use File, Converters, ASCII to read them in.

The ASCII format is very forgiving. You can separate the date using commas, tabs, XYZ (ex: X1.0000Y1.0000Z0.0000). The Z's are optional.

Try creating a bunch of points and writing an ASCII file to see the format.

Thanks Charles, that's a good one. It works well. I had, on each line, a number with four decimal digits then a comma, some spaces then another number followed by a comma. MC has assumed the numbers are X and Y and created a point for each line. Lovely.
