KSR(Knowlage of Stock Recgnization)

Sorry for my poor english for it's not my native language.

Does the MC8.1 can support KSR(Knowlage of Stock Recgnization)?

I would like to millling a irregular shape and won't use the rectangular stock so that saving some time.

But the MC seemed to generate toolpaths always use a rectangular stock when rough milling.

The access ot stl files seems can only setup irregular stock in varify processing and not being used in generate toolpaths.

Above founction can be found in Cimatron 12 and Powermill 3.0.11 whatever in generating toolpaths or varify it.

If I have not learned how to use the KSR of MC V8.1 for I am a newbie in NC programming.

Any ideal?

My solution (or Mastercam solution...):

Create irregular shape (surface or solid).

Create Rough Pocket Toolpath for irregular shape.

Now Create Rough Contour Toolpath with Rest Mill option.

Easy and Fast...

MC does not have KSR for mill at this time ,but is contained in lath.

The closes thing would be doing a pocket pah and telling it to remachine.

It will ask for the size of the last tool and only machine were the last tool did not fit.

I use an extra tool path(of the exact rough stock size) pasted on the top of all the real tool paths . I run it on every verify for visualization ,But then I don't select it for posting
