is it possible to pick a partial chain to offset?

2 ways that I can think of.

 

pick the contours as singles and offset or

change the color of what you are going to offset and use a color mask chain.

Another way is to select Xform-Offset Contour and look at the Chain dialog for Partial.

A partial chain can also be selected by left-clicking on the first entity of the partial and left-clicking next on the last entity needed for the partial chain. HTH

This would be a nice feature to add for partial chains.

 

Right now we can hold the shift key down and click on an entity and have it chain. It would be nice to do a partial chain by using the CTRL key. With the CTRL key held down select the first and the last entity and have it do a partial chain.

I don't get into the offset contour dialog too often, didn't even realize that one was available.
