  2. we have two seats of x and one of them doesn't show a change in the color of an icon when you select it. for instance, if you are back plotting and select quick verify , it doesn't change the color to show it has been selected. this happens only on one computer. is there a setting in x or is it a monitor issue? also can you change the background color of your tool bar area from gray to something else? thanks
  3. thanks!!! i knew it would be to easy.
  4. i've tried to figure it out, but i finally give up. how do you move the position of a drafting entity after you already positioned it. i know it's probably so simple i'll feel stupid. thanks

  7. here's the deal. i created two machine groups in one file. in the second one i created a new op and also copied three from the first machine group. when i try and post all of them from the second group together i get two seperate programs with the difference being the new op in one program and the three copied ops in the other program. what am i doing wrong and how do i fix it?
  8. i read how to do this once, but i can't find the post topic using the forum seach. how do you hide the ribbon bar so that it only comes up when you need it?
  9. is there anyway to keep mcx from prompting you about a partcial nci file output? once in awhile i accidently hit yes and then it automatically starts to regenerate all dirty ops. this can be really annoying and time consuming.
  10. i dropped the autohighlight toggle toolbar icon in the middle of the surfaces toolbar. how do i remove it from just that toolbar and create it's own toolbar ?

  13. actually the usb port automatically overrides the port letter designation and is working just fine. if i have the flash drive plugged in i can't save anything to the machine until i take out the flash drive. saving my mc9 folder to the flash drive as we speak. thanks for the imput and timely replies. man i love this forum!!! p.s. don't you guys have anything better to do on a saturday?j/k
  14. chris, our fadal controllers use a g8 to turn accel. and a g9 to turn on decell. we always add the g8 to the start of our program and it really makes a difference.
  15. i just bought a new usb 2gb external flash drive. when i try and use it in one of my usb ports it has the same name as the one for my machines(drive e) how can i rename the machine drives so i can use the usb port for the flash drive?
  16. hey , i figured out what it didn't like in the program. there is a line with a-0. that is for the fourth axis. the one machine must be set to take it and the other one not to take it. i'm using the mcx provided fadal format 1 4-axis post. do you know if they make a fadal 3 axis post for mcx? or, how do i change the parameters in the fadal control to accept the a-0. in a program?
  17. thad, the error 64 is a fadal error. that comes up when i try to run the program thru a dnc just on the machine with the mp32 controller.the "parameter is incorrect" comes up when i try and post to the machine. it actually does post a file but it gives the "parameter is incorrect" error when it tries to open up the mcx editor. when i post a program i post it right to the windows side of the fadal controller instead of the mcx nc folder. could this have something to do with it?
  18. here's the deal. we have 2 fadals. i can post to one of them and it works fine, but when i try and post to the other one it gives me a "parameter is in correct" error message. the one that works uses the rs232 port and the latest version of ncfadal file transfer software. the one that doesn't work uses the original(2000)fadal memory manager. mcx will post the program but won't open the file editor. if i open the file up in mcx manually , then i can edit it. once i try and run the program in the machine it gives me an error 64 : bad file name. it's the same op with the same parameters and post that the other machine works with. any ideas?
