Surface help

Hello all

 

I need to create a surface across this part (from front view..just like if you were to slice through the block, using the top of the part..my tool need not go below the surface, I have uploaded this file to the FTP site

under( mxc files ) (385 surface help zip)

Hello again..

Just to keep the project going I created an extruded solid across the part, just so I could get the machining started.

I would still like to know to create the surface across.

If I understand you correctly, all you need to do is create surfaces from the solid, then you can choose any of the surfaces you wish to lay a toolpath on.

 

create >> surface >> create surface from solid...

 

then pick your solid. You can then get rid of the solid and you have any of the surfaces to choose from.

 

Is that what you meant
