Roll cutter around corners problem

Ok, here is an old gripe of mine. Back in the stone age, v7.1 and before, a contouring toolpath with compensation in control had the option of roll cutter around corners, all, sharp, and off, everything worked flawlessly. With the release of v8 this corner rounding option has NOT worked. Now before I get flamed for being some ignorant jackass, try this little test first. create a square, program a toolpath with compensation in control, backplot, you will see that the path is sans corner rounds regardless of which corner rounding option that you pick. Now if you have access to earlier versions of Mcam. try the same test in v7, post these toolpaths (Any post, gives the same result) and the difference is obvious. I have reported this bug to my reseller with every new release since v8, to no avail. Now I know all about wear type cutter comp, and this is not a problem for those toolpaths. However I am sure that some programmers may like comp in control and these options should work. I cannot understand why this has not been fixed. This error also shows up occasionally as unusable toolpaths where optimize is used. I can go into detail if requested. This problem and the reverse post feature are the only two reasons that I have never un-installed v7. By the way I love Mastercam, I just wanted to get this off my chest. Peter

Hi Chris, I think that what you have is a post issue. I used roll tool around corners quite sucessfully till 8 and I only have problems doing complex contours with optimize, mcam puts in small moves (.001 or less) that wont run right, but it makes me wonder what experiences other folks might have had.
