import files

has anyone used the import files option on your old mc9 or mc8 files if i open these files in x and make a change it has to be saved as x file , so you can see this could get real messy with thousands of files. so i wonder if i should do a complete import ,any suggestions?

As I pull older files into X I after I save, I delete the V9 files.

thats what i should have done from the begining.it is what i will do from now on.

when i brought my v9 files into vx it automatically saved them as mcx files.there are no mc9 files in mcx.i do have to regenerate the toolpaths.

no, not that i've seen,but my files are for wire

so they are not as complex as you mill guys files.

Please help us help you - what version of Mastercam are you using? Do you know what version of AutoCAD the DWG came from? There is a Mastercam option to blank all the 'paper space' entities from the DWG file. Did you try 'Screen/UnBlank' to see if there are any blanked entities?

 

Can you put the file up onto the forum's FTP site?
