Is there a way to see what the g-code of the next move is? For instance, I make a move in g00, I want to see if the next move is a g00 or a g01, go2, etc. I have different m-codes to insert depending on what the next move is.

You have to set the getnextop := 1 post switch to turn on the "next" variables.

 

nextop then contains the "next" (NCI) Gcode

Okay, I give up. I've been trying to get this to work with no luck. The problem is I'm not sure of the NCI codes. Will the nextop variable contain the NCI code or the actual g-code? If it's the NCI code, what code am I looking for? I've been wading through the post parameter info but all I've succeded in doing is confusing myself. Thanks for any help.

nextop gives you the NCI 'G-code' of the next NCI line.

You should be able to look at nextop and "see" if the next move is Rapid nextop=0' or a Feed move 'nextop=1', Arc CW 'nextop=2', Arc CCW 'nextop=3'.

In addition you can "see" if other 'G-code', such as '1003' for end-of-program, etc.

You may want to get a copy of the V9 post reference guide from your reseller, if you haven't already. If you have, there's a pretty clear table in there showing you the NCI codes and parameters. It's in the Volume 3 under "the NCI file". I use it all the time.
