VS7.2c to VS 8.0

I am reluctant to make the jump to Vs8.0 although the new features are inviting. Can any Vs8 newbies confirm that it might be best to hold off and wait for all the initial bugs and problems to get fixed prior to the upgrade?

Regards,

Toby

i would say take the jump it is not like te v7 when it came out as many bugs as there were then.

they held back on v8 longer to get it right as possable.

i have benn using for sevrale months now and been haveing great success.

i say it is woth the jump even if you are doing 2d all the way to 5th axis..

V8 has a lot of nice enhancments and is very user friendly. The only problems I have found with it is the optimize toolpath has a bug (leftover, scallop, and shallow toolpaths). Mastercam said this will be fixed in V8.1. Also when you use small tolerances and collapse zones with complex models, Mcam will either have a fatal error or a "unable to determine collapsable boundry". If you like to use optimize be prepared for errors in the toolpath or wait until V8.1.
