  1. Thank you. I've looked them up and will follow their leads.
  2. Hello Everyone. We currently have two seats of Mastercam 2021. Both have exactly the same options. One seat will open an .sldprt file but the other one will not. I have checked both Configurations and they are not different from each other. At first , when trying to open it, it would give me the error that, " Solidworks is not installed..." , I made sure that the (Import Solidworks history) was turned off. Then afterwards, when trying to open the file , it would not give that error as stated above, but there would be Zer0 entities on screen. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. THanks Chris D.
  3. Hello. I have not posted on here for a very long time, so I'm not sure if this is the right section of the forum to ask this. Whenever I post to my Haas Hard drive (depending on the size of the file -if more than 50 KB or so), I get the following (just an example from memory): X.050-.5 Y.05 (when posted to Haas hard drive.) It just jumbles the code. Whenever I post to the USB drive or just my desktop I do not get this type of jumbled or misread code. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, was there a simple fix ? I have already notified our machine dealer but they are coming for other stuff as well. So, if I could get a jumpstart on this issue, that would be great. However, I do have the sinking feeling that we will have to replace the hard drive. Chris D. Mastercam 2021
  4. Can I assume that alot of decent guys got out of the trade and went on to something else? Sounds like things are picking up quite a bit down there. Glad to hear it. Chris
  5. Thanks for your reply and your offer of help Ron. I really do appreciate it. Yes I do understand strings and such and I got alot my ideas from the MPLMASTER post. I will explain what I am trying to ask. I do not want post processor code or help, although I may later on). I just need code that actually needs to be on the machine control itself to do the c axis moves from the left hand ( or HEAD 1 Program). I have contacted the Miyano Support line to no avail at this point and was just wondering if anyone had experience with this machine and doing that kind of work. I have the post ready to go, I just want to see if there is a different way to activate my subspindle on the machine without having to use left and right programs. Once I have that figured out, then I can modify the post to suit. Wait codes and everything we need for the post, I have already taken care of. Thanks Chris D.
  6. Thank you Millman , My bad. I said I was in the middle of writing the post. The truth is I am already 90% done the post myself. I just need to add the custom m-codes in as per the operator's preference. This issue I am having is resolved in the fact that I can use wait codes and manual entry to get around this. It is not a post issue, it is a machine/control issue that I am trying to resolve. If I can get around this issue, it will make programming the lathe easier. Chris
  7. Good Morning everyone. I am in the middle of modifying a post processor for the two Miyanos that we have in house here. I have tried contacting the machine dealer but it is taking forever and I thought I would ask here if anyone is currently programming these types of machines (either with CAM software or Manually) , it doesn't matter. I am trying to see if I would be able to control or synchronize the right spindle's -C- axis with the program from the "left side". I know this sounds weird. but anyone who runs these machines would kind of know what I am talking about,( they are a unique machine that's for sure). If any one can help me with this with some sample code if they can that would be great. If not, then I'll see about trying to contact our dealer. Thanks Chris D.
  8. "Can't" cannot be in my vocabulary at this point ( maybe will change later) So I am going to go ahead and try a few different things...... I at least give it a shot. I know it won't be easy. Thanks for the input guys. Chris
  9. Ah yes, sorry They are both BNJ-51SY3 ( left turret has X,Y,Z. main spindle (left) has C. right turret is stationary with 6 stations right spindle (subspindle) has c axis also the left turret can do work on the subspindle (turning and milling with the right turret oriented out of the way... in X , Y and Z the right spindle does the moving for both left and right turrets Please remember, I am not looking to hock a post processor from anyone but rather to see if anyone is using it for their similar machines. I want to see if I would be wasting my time doing this. Thanks Chris
  10. Hello All. I was wondering if there was anyone out there using Mastercam to program a MIYANO lathe. I am about to embark on a quest to either buy a post processor (from my dealer of course), or embark on a quest to begin writing one. I just want to know if you are using MC for it are you able to use all the features that a Miyano has, or do you end up editing alot. Chris
  11. Thanks. I have looked at the control definition page for the Lathe Machine Cycles and they are all checked off, but it seems that the post is not supporting them. Funny thing though. I switched to another post (MPLFAN.pst) within my current .mmd and it still did not post the roughing canned cycle, but when I switched to the Lathe Default.mmd (kept the same MPLFAN.pst), and it actually posted the canned roughing properly. I honestly think i am missing something in my .mmd file ( I named it HARDINGE GT.mmd and I have using the supplied GENERIC 2 AXIS LATHE.control-5. I think I might just redo this with the lathe default. or unless you may think of something that i may be missing?
  12. Hey Guys. Thanks I put the nobrk$ in to the post and it seemed to work. CHris
  13. Hello Again. I am asking anyone to help me with this. I have tried outputting the Canned roughing cycle in my post (GENERIC 2 AXIS LATHE.pst) and it always puts it out as long hand I have looked at all my switches in the post and can't seem to find anything wrong. Something I am missing? Thanks Chris
  14. Hello All. I am currently working on a post for a HARDINGE GT LATHE. There used to be a switch in the older posts to " omit breakup of X Y and Z moves" . I notice with the newer posts supplied with X5 that the switch is no longer there. I can ensure that I breakup the moves in my operations by using Reference "approach" and "retract". But can anyone tell me if the post option is still there? I am using the GENERIC 2 AXIS LATHE post BTW. Should I be using the MPLMASTER? Thanks Chris
  15. Funny thing... I've worked at a few places depending on who you're working for and sometimes "what" you are actually smoking, it tends to be pretty lax. One shop allowed it right at the machine because the places are so well ventilated that no one notices. In some cases there were alot smokers and one non smoker who was overwhelmed by the smoke. So the smokers decided to stop altogether.
  16. Hello Everyone. First of all , I am not asking for a post processor. We already have a post for the Mori Seiki MT 1500 that was provided by Inhouse (thank you). What I am actually wondering is if there is or ever will be a GEneric version for this type of machine provided by Cnc Software or In-house? Thanks
  17. I do agree with you. Actually that's what I was doing at first but they wanted to be able to turn it on and off without changing the WCS . THere are also different things Im adding such as tool life management and probing etc. So they just want to be able to go the misc values screen and do everything from there.
  18. Hey Glenn thanks for the response. So yeah you're right. As soon as I got off the forum, I realized I was missing just one statement in pfcout. It made all the difference. Chris DiNardo
  19. Hello everyone . I am writing a post for a kitamura horizontal . In some of the mcx files we have ther are rotations from front plane to right side plane which gives me B0 and B 90 . I have tried to force output of just B0 regardless of toolplane using mi5 to force it. But it keeps giving me B90 at the pzrapid . Am I going about this the wrong way? Is the toolpane change impossible to overcome in the post?
  20. Hello Everyone, I am calling upon the WIRE GODS in this forum to help me with a project given to me. I was wondering if it is possible to embed the Wire cutting conditions such as on/ off time flow rate etc. into an NC program so it sets it everytime without the operator having to set them in the control everytime. I am pretty sure that it is a G10 code to start with. Have any of you wire gods done this? BTW, the controls are both FANUC. One is a 16-W control and the other is a 310(is)-WA control. Thanks for any input. Chris
  21. Thank you guys , for replying. I went ahead and did the left toolplane shift and it seemed to work. For clarity reasons, what I did in this particular program was I createed the geometry for the left spindle at system zero and translated the geometry for the right spindle to Z-10 and whatever toolplanes I create on the right side have a system point value of Z-10. That way I could program both sides in the same setup. Is this a common way of doing it or am I just making things more complicated for myself?
  22. Hello All. It has been a very long time since I've posted a question on here. I am programming a MORI MT LATHE it has a left and right spindle both with c axis. It also has a b axis milling head for it's (top) turret, and a regular turret with some live tooling for the bottom turret. We also have a Licenced Post Processor from IN-House Solutions. Now that we have that out of the way I was wondering if someone could give som advice on programming the right spindle. I need to mill a pocket that needs to be oriented a certain way to the operations done in the left spindle. I am just confused on where to start. Do I need to create a "left tool plane" for it? because the tool will be facing the other way. I hope someone out there can help me. Thanks Chris D.
  23. Hello Everyone Its been along time since I've been on here . Using MCAMX-5, Windows 7, Mill Level 1 Im trying to modify my configuration to open up in the shop network. (H:\) I change my configuration, it works for that session and then when I close it and open it up again it goes back to C:\. Is there something I'm missing? BTW im trying to change where mcamx-5 goes to, to open the mcx-5 files. Thanks Chris
