can anyone here give me some guidelines on writing macros. every time i convert a x_t i use the same sequence of events, so i was wondering if this is possibe to do with a macro. even after the conversion i have to split the job to 3 different layers surfaces, line splies arcs ,and unblanked surfaces before i start. all this so i can save some time to get a coffee. hope someone can help.

Bring it in as a solid and you wont have to do this.

 

Really is a btter way to bring them in. do you have the solids add-on?

no i have no solids add on (version 7 still). i know its old but no upgrade due until this summer .

The problem i am finding with this is the file changes every time and the locations.

I made a few of them in V7 trying just the Parasolid convert did not work so well.

But did some otheres and work fine.

 

Did you want it to do all of what you stated in your 1st post?

more the second part i was looking for. all i'm after is one to look at so i can get started writing them.

Use the sortiges.dll c-hook and configure it using the sortiges.dat file, should take care of the sorting issue. The levels.dll c-hook is a nice complement when cleaning up your files.

Where do you get the levels.dll c-hook from?

Levels C-Hook for V7

 

This ones for V7, could work in V8. I've used one in V8 not sure if it's this one or not.
