New lathe choice

From what I know of the Daewoo lathes, I think that'll be a sweet purchase.

 

Let us know what you think when you've run the thing for a few weeks

Yes I have MCX lathe

Soon to be X2

I think the rapids are 1400 in Z and about 1200 in X

I will be thinking seriously about a live tooled twin spindle in about a year. so I'll need to upgrade my seat of lathe.

I think we are going to be quite happy with it.

Thing is though, I don't think I'll get much chance to run it. I started my shop because I love machining. but I don't get much time on a machine anymore. Cept on the weekends...

 

 

Now here's an interesting question...

The sales guy also brought along a brochure for a 3016 Daewoo mill.

We are going to be thinking about a 4020 in about 6 months.

Opinions?

jim either the daewoo or the yci would be ok but the people around here are really like the yci.
