Data Path for .NC file

Is there a way to have Mastercam put a posted .NC file into the same folder that the MC8 file is in, rather than the "Data Path" specified in "System Configuration"?

Hiya Camtech,

 

Sure there is. Got to Screen/configure/files tab and in the Data Path window Highlight the NC Programs (.NC) listing. Then, press the button next to the LOWER window called "selected items data path". Wait a moment or two for the next dialog to appear the just browse to the foder that you would like to save to. Click OK. Then OK to overwrite the mc8.cfg file

Thanks for the reply, but that's not what I was after (I can see how to do that). What I was looking for was a way to automatically have it put the posted file in the same folder your MC8 file is in.

How about the old setdirs.dll c-hook? I would set that as the startup c-hook and when you launch Mastercam it will prompt you for the project directory.
