O/T Tooling foam vs. Machinable wax

What do you guys prefer? My boss wanted to get some tooling foam, but thought it cost to much, so we started using laminated peices of medite. That just makes a huge mess. Seems to me like wax would be the way to go, since it shouldn't be dusty, and you could recast it. I've never used it though.

I have used wax with good results and it is

reusable if you take care to keep it free from

contamiantion with metal chips

Have also used foam insulation board - the pink

kind - that you can get at home depot - it works

for proving out tool paths but you cannot measure for close dimensions it also makes a mess

to clean up
