Posting I's and J's

I know this is a novice question, and I used to

know how to change the post to output I's and J's

instead of R's (in V9 and before), but how do I do it in X?

Try changing your machine control definition to Delta Start To Center in the arc topic.

isn't there a line in the general output settings

in your post

where you can select the arcoutput to either i and j or use the r? i don't know if that will fix it but mine is set to output i and j.

In X2 some Control Definition settings override the post.

lee, i gotcha.mine is set to delta start to center also

but i've got no idea what that means.

i guess it means figure the i and j for the arcs.

"the control definition file could not be opened. Check the read only attribute". Does anyone know where I might find it?

in x (pre X2) it's in machine type on the top menu bar. Or go into your tpaths op manager/properties/files/machine /edit/click on computer icon/Arc/on the arc center option change it to/Delta/start to center. This will only change it for the machine group though. This is good though to see if it works.

 

 

To change it for good it's in machine type for X2, in Settings/Mach. Definition manager/click on computer icon/Arc/on the arc center option change it to/Delta/start to center.

your correct except it's also for the k.

You will also find delta promp for the z axis on machines as, it is used for the reference plane in a peck cycle. Every axis that can produce compensation for a given axis will have a delta included for that ability.

K is used when there is an arc in the *-Z plane.
