.MMD or.Control or the post ???

I'm using X2

Generic Mill 4-axis VMC machine definition

Generic 4X Mill Control & post.

I have a VMC 3 axis Robodrill with a 2 axis/tilt table. Rotation is C, tilt is A.

When I post, the rotary axis comes out as A and I need it to be C. Is that done in the Machine Definition or Control file or the Post?

The way CNC software talks, everything should be able to be configured in the Mach Def & Control screens but this seems to not be true. I already tried changing the Machine Coordinate from A to C under Machine Def Manager then double clicking VMC A-Axis but this didn't work.

Thanks

I would change it here:

code:

 # 5 Axis Rotary Settings

# --------------------------------------------------------------------------

#Assign axis address

str_pri_axis "B"

str_sec_axis "A"

str_dum_axis "C"

#Toolplane mapped to top angle position strings

str_n_a_axis "A"

str_n_b_axis "B"

str_n_c_axis "C"

Ok this is weird .. I'm answering my own questions. I found a better way to make this work. Undo what I posted earlier & change

use_md_rot_label : no$

to

use_md_rot_label : yes$

Then under Machine Definition, Machine Base, Table Group, double click VMC A-Axis & change General Info, Machine Coordinate to C.

Hope this helps others.
