Mirror Surface Toolpath Problem

Hi and Hellp,

 

I´am mirror (transform) surface toolpath (scallop) (version 8.1.1 or 9)...with a climb cut, when you mirror that toolpath it will now be a conventional cut... not good.

Now check the Reverse option in Mirror... the climb cut is ok... but change it back all to the way the orginal toolpath...in my case, wrong cut... cut down for up cavity mold...;-(

My not good solution... mirror geometry and create new toolpath...;-(

Solution for this problem...

Wallece before you go that far try this.

Try these setting.

this will copy every thing and then you can go back in and make change if needed ,but it does keep the path the same.

Ok... but our solution not good... big time for new toolpath calculate... Time is money...;-)

 

Clean the file and zip... size now 2 MB...

Cant you just mirror the geometry, then duplicate the operation and replace the oringinal geometry with the new mirrored geometry?

Well, doing what i said seems to be the fastest and really no work. takes under 10min to do hole think and you get a cup of coffie and be done.

 

If you do what Byran.Davis says this is more steps and time.

 

And this way really does every thing Byran.Davis said in a single shot.

 

Sorry I was not more help.

If any one eles has a faster way that won't regen the path. please let us know.

OK CC, I just checked what you did, I forget about those settings because I never need to use them, I usually always do my geometry in Cadkey and import it ready to machine

Bryan, I hear ya it was not meant as disrespect by any means.

 

Just another thought only or another way to do it.

Will the editnci c-hook do anything for you? You can post out the original .nci for that toolpath, mirror it in editnci, and then post out the mirrored path. No associativity, but no regen either.

Wow, I forgot about that tool.

I use that once in a while like for using a Jhead on a CNC.(90 deg head)

Use to use that toll all the time in earler versions.
