301 FULL HARD

Hi all

I have a sheetmetal job here that I need to do some secondary work to. The Material is 301 FH.

I'm using a 1/8 4 fl carb em going .025 deep. I just need to c'bore some holes but the corners of the EM are chipping. I am currently running at 300 sfm and .0003 chip. Is this to fast?

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Mike

Do the counter bore's require a sharp corner or is there a max radius allowed? If allowed us the biggest radius you can. Allso try between 100 and 150 sfm. Chipload your using is ok. That material will work harden and with sharp corners the first thing to go will be the most vulnerable part of the endmill which is the corners. HTH!
