Posted: 1/28/06: Hi, I completed an MC Art design thru tool verify and saved as .mcx file and then converted the file to a .STL file. My goal was to produce the Art profile using a powder STL machine/printer system. Since the completed MC Art design is a surface profile the surface is to thin to use the STL method. Is there a method to convert the MC Art profile to a solid and then convert the file to a .STL file?

Per-Jay/aka CadCam: Use the art export option this will give you the option to save it as an STL file. This is under the art options.

Added comments to original Topic by jerry Jay, I used the Art Export function to create the .STL file but the function does not add thickness to the Art profile. I need a method to add thickness to the profile either before I create a .STL file or after. TY -- jerry
