Crash! Error opening file!

Hi all,

In the last 2 days I have had 3 files that wont

open with Mastercam X2 after I save them, exit mastercam and then try to open them again. At first I thought the first 2 were due to me transfering a dxf file from another program into Mastercam, and that for some reason MX2 didnt like it, but this last time it was a virgin mastercam file. When I try open them I get a "mastercam.exe generated errors"

message. I tried opening them with MCx mr2 but I get a "corrupt file" message there.

I also tried it with another computer in the shop and I get the same result.

Im using x2 for wire by the way.

Any Ideas???

Thanks,

Mike

That is normal. MCX has no idea what to do with an X2 file unless you (in X2) use Save-as an X file (press options in the save-as dialog) and even then it won't save toolpaths. It's the same as saving as an .mc9.....

As far as a reason for your initial problem I am sorry to say I don't have an answer...

If you can e-mail them or post on the FTP site, maybe somebody can try to open them for you... I'll try via e-mail but lately I've had trouble on the ftp.

I've gotten the impression that some users have difficulties with older operating systems. X2 with Windows XP has been extremely reliable for me.
