.STL file creation for different operations

Can a .stl file have a surface applied to it. I have completed my 1st oper. done a verify and saved my stl file. I had to change my XYZ position to for 2nd oper. When I move my origin in the stl file and try to re save the file as a .stl I get an alarm message that says "No Surfaces or Solids selected. I guess my question is how do I use my .stl file from my 1st oper for stock(in Verify) for the 2nd oper.

To move an STL file use Xform STL. Takes some practice.

Instead of moving and .stl just use the WCS and leave it in the same position
