I would like to know if there is a way to get cycle times from Mastercam 9 for a wire edm.

Its a Mitsubishi.

 

The mill version will give you cycle times to complete a part but I havent found this capibility with the wire edm version.

In ver9, it justs gives you length of wire as your cycle time in backplot. I've never seen a cycle time.

What feedrate is the Wire EDM cutting (burning) at?

That's a bit difficult for Mastercam to know since the actual rate is determined by the machine itself. Even though we may know (in this case) it is a Mitsubishi, the differing models have differing rates, cutting the same material under the same flushing conditions, etc...

 

Using the knowledge of your machine, cutting the specific material you're running, you can take the path length and calculate an estimated cycle time.

roger, that is what i do.divide the cutting path length by the cutting speed for each pass.it works great for quoting jobs.
